Founded in 1997, Mastersball is a leader in providing in-depth strategy, analysis, research, and applications to the advanced fantasy baseball player. Our Platinum offering includes regularly-updated projections, profiles for hundreds of players, minor league player rankings and much more. Mastersball continues to offer plenty of insightful free content, too, via daily articles and blog postings.
In 1997, after a failing to fleece him in a trade, Jason Grey decided if he couldn't beat him, he may as well ask him to join him, and Mastersball was born. Focusing primarily on the science of player valuation and game theory, Todd carved out a niche in the industry, earning the respect of his peers. In 2006, Mastersball.com was purchased by Fantasy Planet and Todd became the Research Director for Fantasy Planet. In 2009, Todd relaunched Mastersball, soon thereafter merging with Lawr Michaels and CREATiVESPORTS.com.
In November 2017, Lawr rebooted CreativeSports2.com, with Todd returning Mastersball to its roots as a baseball only site.
In 2016, Todd won both NL Tout Wars and Mixed LABR champion and is a multiple National Fantasy Baseball Championship winner, including three NL only auctions and co-owning an Ultimate Auction champion. Lord Zola, as he's affectionately known, contributes to ESPN.com and Rotowire. He's a frequent guest on Sirius/XM and an annual speaker for the spring and fall First Pitch Forum symposiums. Todd's work has appeared on SI.com, MLB.com, Fantasy Alarm and Baseball HQ. In 2013, he was the Fantasy Sports Writers Association recipient for Article of the Year and in 2015, a finalist for Fantasy Baseball Writer of the Year.
The Zen Master of Fantasy Baseball, Lawr Michaels, meditates on all things baseball.
Dear CREATiVESPORTS readers:
First I want to begin this note by wishing you the best of holiday seasons.
If you have followed any fantasy industry buzz over the past few months, you might have heard that CREATiVESPORTS has merged with Mastersball.com, the site operated by our great friends Todd Zola, Rob Leibowitz, and Gery Jennison.
Well, on the eve of the new year and decade, this merger will become official on January 1, 2010 when we all operate as one site under the name Mastersball.com.
Please be assured that the writers and features you have depended upon over the years will continue. JP Kastner, Brian Walton, Marc Meltzer, Buster H, Lori Rubinson, Jason Mastrodonato, Pasko Varnica, and I will continue to produce the Hotpages, NFBC/NFFC Zones, Top Prospect Lists and other features that have become site staples.
But, we will also now be much more accessible as one of the strengths of the Mastersball crew is their forums and their reader interaction.
With the merger, the combination boasts a cartel of writers with skill, expertise, experience and industry recognition that is equal to any fantasy site.
Among us we have two LABR and five Tout spots, and in 2009 alone, we won no fewer than six national title competitions (two Tout and four NFBC) not to mention solid finishes in a number of other publicized expert leagues.
So, we expect this combination to really up the ante in providing the support and daily interaction for you, our loyal support and community, that will help you navigate to the top of your respective standings.
Furthermore we are also looking to use Twitter, Blog Talk Radio, and Podcasting to get the Mastersball message out and about.
Again, thank you so much for your support and loyalty in the past, and all our best wishes to you and yours for the coming year. Along with a handful of league titles!
