The PGA Championship proved to be exciting, and with my Hideki Matsuyama and Rory McIlroy picks got close to hitting the winner, but nowhere near a cut with anyone else on my roster. This reversed my general trend of being good at hitting the sleepers, but missing the winners.
The Wyndham is played at the Sedgefield GC in Greensboro, North Carolina, which measures out at a modest 7127 yards, but the course does seem to reward aggressive hitters. So, I went a couple of paths, first favoring the guys who had previous success at Sedgefield, and then hitters who were simply the best at Greens In Regulation.
Kevin Kisner ($11,300): Kisner is 4-for-4 making the cut at Sedgefield and has made the top ten his last two tourneys at Wyndham along with averaging 69.8 points per week.
Webb Simpson ($10,000): Simpson has made the cut at Sedgefield seven straight times, won the fest in 2011 and has four top ten finishes there.
Billy Horschel ($7700): Horschel has made 12 of 20 cuts and is tied for 22nd in GIR at 68.47%.
Martin Flores ($7600): Going again with Flores, who is sixth in GIR with a 69.48% success rate.
Cameron Percy ($6800): Percy ranks fourth overall in GIR at 69.84% over 1134 holes on the tour with 11 of 19 cuts made.
Davis Love ($6600): Just the low-end crapshoot, Love has made 50% of his cuts and well, the low-end picks have to be made.
Do remember to keep fantasy open and regulated and fair for all by writing your local lawmakers and tell them of your love of playing and desire to keep on playing. Visit the FSTA site for more information (and thanks).
