If there was any question as to the DFS skills of Derek Carty and Todd Zola, who won Cycles I and II of Tout Daily, respectively, the pair charted the top two teams to start Cycle III, probably causing the rest of the field to cry "uncle."
Both saw the Mallex Smith night of 40 points in their crystal spreadsheets, thus riding Smith and Corey Kluber (22.1), and then had variations on the theme that led to 139.2 points for Derek, and 129.85 for Lord Z.
USAT's Steve Gardner did an amazing job, overcoming Brad Peacock's -5.85 points, ringing up Jordan Montgomery (28.15), Jonathan Lucroy (26), Giancarlo Stanton (27) and Dee Gordon (24) to a third place slot with 124.3 points.
Cycle III, Week 2 commences this Friday. You can check the standings here. Log into the site every Friday and we each provide a couple of picks we like for the evening.
For the archivists, the Touts play a daily game against one another every Friday at DraftKings. Lord Zola is the curator of this fine mess, which breaks the season into five four-week cycles, with the two teams garnering the most points over each advancing to a final championship that includes the Tout collecting the most points over all 20 weeks.
Remember to go to the Tout Wars site for our Friday picks. And, tune into the Tout Wars Hour on the FNTSY network, hosted by me, with Justin Mason and featuring Lord Z every Thursday night at 8 PM ET.
