The inimitable Lenny Melnick rode the pitching duo of Chris Archer (36.65) and Max Scherzer (43.9) along with Devon Travis (30) to a monster 160.55 point week in Fout Wars Daily, pushing the venerable New Yorker into the top three going into the final week of Cycle II.
Lenny nosed out Lord Zola, who finished second last week with 152.8, exploiting Scherzer, but also Neil Walker (37) while the remarkably consistent Vlad Sedler finished third with 127.8 points, giving Vlad yet another Top Five finish. The RotoWire prognosticator is now atop the overall golden ticket standings at 402.85, 21 points ahead of Mike Beller and 23 over Melnick. As for Jeff Boggis and me, we are languishing at 11th and 10th, respectively, and would need a Melnick-like week to crack the top slots.
Cycle II concludes this coming Friday. You can check the standings here. Log into the site every Friday and we each provide a couple of picks we like for the evening.
For the archivists, the Touts play a daily game against one another every Friday at DraftKings. Lord Zola is the curator of this fine mess, which breaks the season into five four-week cycles, with the two teams garnering the most points over each advancing to a final championship that includes the Tout collecting the most points over all 20 weeks.
