It’s the most wonderful time of the year, NHL playoffs and the beginning of Major League Baseball. I’m going to stick with my pre-season Stanley Cup picks with the Washington Capitals hosting the St. Louis Blues. As much as I now hate my Western Conference finalist, I’m still staying honest and not changing mid stroke, but let us go over some DFS picks for this second night of playoff action.

Tyler Bozak ($4500, Toronto Maple Leafs): While I stated the Capitals will win the Cup, it doesn’t mean they are going to shut everyone out along the way. As a matter of fact, while most teams will focus on shutting down the opponent's top two lines, someone from the third or fourth line will engage in the Pandolfo Effect, where one or more of those players will light it up in the playoffs. Bozak and deadly line mates Mitch Marner and James van Riemsdyk will be very hard to handle, even for a team as defensively deep as Washington. Look for Bozak, who had five points in the Leafs' last five games, to put up some relevant points in your favor.

Ryan Getzlaf ($6500, Anaheim Ducks): What seemed to be done silently, Getz led the Ducks with 73 points, and he ended the regular season on a five-game point streak with one goal and six helpers. Getzlaf led the way for the Ducks to the Pacific Division crown in a stacked division with Edmonton, San Jose and an underachieving L.A. Kings team. With Anaheim taking four out of five meetings this season against Calgary and Getzlaf adding six assists in those five games, expect this former Calgary Hitman to keep the change purse open this series while he's handing out dimes and leading the charge over the Flames.

Be sure to hit me up @PolkaPat to talk hockey and a smattering of baseball and look for more hockey from me starting next week at Fighting Chance Sports.
