It is hard to believe after a couple of strong weeks of DFS picks, coupled with playing a few magical rounds on Maui, that my Honda Classic selections could be so terrible. But, kind of like inexplicably being unable to hit fairway woods out of nowhere, my squad imploded beyond belief.
For the second time this season, I had a withdraw (Brandon Grace) and four more golfers who missed the cut, meaning Adam Scott was the only pick with any redeeming social value.
So, we are off to Clbu de Golf Chapultepec in Mexico City for this week's challenge, so let's see what might be shaking south of the border this weekend. Don't forget you can duke it out against me and cut your chops playing $3 DraftKings Weekly Hybrid PGA.
Jordan Spieth ($11,500): Six-for-six with a 104.6 point average this season is enough for me.
Hideki Matsuyama ($10,700): Maybe the steadiest player on the tour over the past year, Matsuyama simply delivers, finishing five of six weekends and averaging 93.3 points a week.
Tommy Fleetwood ($7400): Fleetwood has been blistering on the European Tour, leading the pack in greens in regulation while standing firm within the Top 20 point earners. He should adjust nicely to Mexico City.
Kevin Na ($7100): Four cuts made in four tries coupled with an 87.4 point average.
K.T. Kim ($7100): Crapshoot with Kim, who has made one cut thus far and banged out 75 points in the process.
Jhonattan Vegas ($6700): The Venezuelan should be comfy playing in a more familiar environ, and is working on five straight cuts made with 79.7 points per week. And, the price is right.
Do remember to keep fantasy open and regulated and fair for all by writing your local lawmakers and tell them of your love of playing and desire to keep on playing. Visit the FSTA site for more information (and thanks).
