Saturday 16th Dec 2017

Well, right back into the fray now that the enjoyable All-Star festivities have ended. Time for the boys to tighten up the laces and tape the sticks up and get ready to battle until season's end, then the playoffs begin. But let’s start with some DFS picks for tonight before we go hog wild with playoff dreams.

Phillip Danault ($4700, Montreal Canadiens): This rookie has earned his spot on the Habs roster, and sure it’s awesome to be thrown into the top power play unit, now centering the top line with Max Pacioretty and Alexander Radulov, not that Danault hasn't earned it. I’m really looking forward to watching Montreal head into the city of brotherly love with their second ranked power play, clicking at 23.23%, against the Flyers' 20th ranked penalty kill. I’ll bet the over on this game.

Mitch Marner ($6100, Toronto Maple Leafs): The NHL rookie of the month for January, and my favorite Leaf, Marner has been simply amazing this year, and is in the Calder race for sure as the NHL’s best rookie. He scored a goal and added an assist in Toronto’s last game in Dallas, where the Stars hung a five spot on the Leafs in the first period. Regardless of who is coaching the Blues, he cannot play goalie, and therein lies the rub. Toronto, who was embarrassed on Monday night, should tighten the reigns and right the ship against St. Louis tonight.
