We will be entertained with 11 games today, and a few of these games have line stack written all over them. Winnipeg hosting St. Louis is the battle of the underachieving goaltenders while Washington at Dallas has me interested that the Caps 10-game winning streak can jump to 11 with an exclamation point goal fest. There is also the third installment of the Battle of Alberta taking place along with Tampa Bay’s cure to a road losing streak, a trip to face the Arizona Coyotes. But let’s get to today’s picks.

Jonathan Drouin ($5200, Tampa Bay Lightning): Tampa is on a two-game losing streak, while struggling to really find much offense on the West Coast trip. Drouin has poured 19 shots on goal over the last four games, in the process scoring two goals along with two helpers. A trip to face the league’s second-worst team in Goals Against should cure the Lightning's scoring ills.

T.J. Oshie ($6000, Washington Capitals): I will continue to use Washington players until the well runs dry or they show me that finding the back of the net is not possible. Oshie has four multi-point games in his last five games, and the Capitals are currently on a ten-game winning streak. Going up against a Dallas Stars team that is 27th in Goals Against, and has a gaping hole between the pipes on most nights, roll out Capitals with confidence.

Sean Monahan ($5400, Calgary Flames): With goals in three straight games, and facing a tired Oilers team that played against Nashville on Friday night, I feel Monahan’s scoring streak may push to four nights. With the fourth Battle of Alberta tonight, Edmonton has rolled in the previous three games with a 14-8 goal differential, with the Oilers special teams factoring into each win on both the power play and short-handed. Regardless of all that, Monahan has been red hot of late, so play him.

BARGAIN BASEMENT

Ryan Carpenter ($3000, San Jose Sharks): The San Jose rookie forward has scored a goal in two of his last three games, and he scored on Thursday night in the close 2-1 win over Tampa. Tonight, San Jose hosts the NHL’s worst team in Goals Against and one of the worst in puck possession, so take a chance on this born during my Desert Storm deployed youngster.
