Whoopee, the 2016 Tour begins this week, with Northern California hosting the Safeway Open at Silverado, in Napa, and I am excited that Diane and I have tickets for Friday, though we are both bummed that Tiger bailed yesterday.
Still, this is my first chance as a "serious" golfer to see a PGA event live, and I am way excited! So, who do I like this week as the season kicks off? Well, here are my rationales, and again, you can duke it out against me and cut your chops playing $3 DraftKings Weekly Hybrid PGA.
Phil Mickelson ($11,300): I don't know if Phil is my fave golfer, but I dig the guy, and I'm excited to see him play, and cool with him as my high priced spread.
Bryson DeChambreau ($8500): This is more of a hunch than anything, but DeChambreau is a Northern California boy, and this is his backyard and I expect him to shine through.
Charley Hoffman ($8400): Hoffman is coming off a fine performance at the BMW Championships, and made the cut 19 of 25 times last season averaging 70.8 points (he bagged 71.8 at the BMW).
Charles Howell ($7600): Howell hit 21 of 25 cuts last season and also scored 71.5 at BMW.
Jamie Lovemark ($7300): I've done well with Lovemark as a pick as he made 20 of 29 cuts last season and averaged 70.5 points per tourney.
Patton Kizzire ($6800): Patton bagged 70.5 points per tourney last year and hit 19 of 26 cuts, and well, it is all an adventure.
