Two more times you can take me on at Beat the Experts, meaning you can still match up against me and 199 other regular guys at RealTime's Friday "Beat the Experts" contest where you can play for free and should you beat me--which these days is not the big deal it seems--you can net a tidy $2 profit.
Aside from some potential showers in Minnesota, the weather looks good for Friday.
Last week, I went whole hog with big time starting pitchers Cole Hamels and Jose Fernandez, who cost a collective $17.6 K and earned a grand total of 8.33 points. These seemed such reasonable picks figuring both hurlers were going against weak teams who whiffed a lot, but the results speak for themselves.
Since there are no true marquee pitchers going today, I went the other way, grabbing Andrew Cashner ($6700) facing the Braves and Jon Gray ($6000), who is facing the Dodgers, but is pretty good away from Coors.
Then, I built a strong infield, and played with my outfield, going solid with Yoenis Cespedes ($5500) and then gambling on Coco Crisp ($3400) and Leonys Martin ($3800). Do note though to check your rosters this afternoon to confirm this latter pair, particularly Crisp, are playing.
Don't forget, you can hit me up @lawrmichaels and also feel free to comment, flatter, cajole, ridicule, bewitch, bother, and bewilder in the comments section below.
