This week should be a white knuckle ride for the golf goofy as the PGA Championship reveals itself with the Top 30 golfers having at it at the East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, making the fantasy choices limited, and tough.
Again, you can duke it out against me and cut your chops playing $3 DraftKings Weekly Hybrid PGA.
The tough thing this week, aside from a very tight and competitive field, is that to make the Top 30 a player had to make a lot of cuts over the course of the season, meaning isolating the best of the best was daunting. That said, here is how I went this time.
Adam Scott ($10,100): The Aussie is 18-of-18 making the cuts, and averages 80.3 points per week. 'Nuff said.
Bubba Watson ($8400): Bubba is a big hitter, and one of my faves to follow. He also averages 72.8 points and has made the finals 18 times in 19 tries.
Matt Kuchar ($8200): Kuchar is good for 23-of-25 cuts made, and averages 73.8 points per tourney.
Phil Mickelson ($8100): Another personal fave (I guess I favor the Southpaws?), Mickelson is so good under pressure, and though he has missed six cuts (he still made 15) this season, we all know to never rule the dude out.
Charl Schwartzel ($7700): The South African has made it through the weekend 19 of 20 times, and averages 75.7 points per tourney.
Emiliano Grillo ($6900): The ideal (and relative) bargain basement pick for me, Grillo has made 22-of-25 cuts and averages 65.8 points when he plays and lasts. Someone has to be the crapshoot, and Grillo is the man.
Do remember to keep fantasy open and regulated and fair for all by writing your local lawmakers and tell them of your love of playing and desire to keep on playing. Visit the FSTA site for more information (and thanks).
