Well, the beauty of DFS ball is that despite our moving to the close of the baseball season and embracing the start of the football season, we can still build a team every day--or weekly or whatever--and have a chance to succeed and even make a little change.
That means you can still match up against me and 199 other regular guys at RealTime's Friday "Beat the Experts" contest where you can play for free and should you beat me--which these days is not the big deal it seems--you can net a tidy $2 profit.
The Bronx will anticipate some wet weather, as will Pittsburgh and the midwest where precipitation will likely hit Minneapolis, St. Louis, and Chicago. But great September skies should wind up prevailing everywhere through the evening and it appears over the weekend.
There is the marquis Jose Fernandez ($9600)/Clayton Kershaw ($9900) match-up that looks like a great source for whiffs and points and ideally a win. So, even though Kershaw is making his first start since landing on the DL, I am going there and thinking (well, hoping) the duo keep one another in check and deliver the goods.
That did mean some bargain basement hitters, and I am gambling on Kolten Wong ($3100), who is working on a six-game hitting streak over which he has compiled nine hits, while also giving a nod to new Indians leadoff hitter, Coco Crisp ($3300), who switch hits, and gets to face Tyler Duffey and his 6.24 ERA.
Don't forget, you can hit me up @lawrmichaels and also feel free to comment, flatter, cajole, ridicule, bewitch, bother, and bewilder in the comments section below.
