With a full schedule of games today, finding players to build a winning team should be easy. Given my preference for selecting pitchers who play on home turf, my number one starter is Johnny Cueto ($9,000). My second starter is Max Scherzer ($9,800), fresh off a great outing, even though he is in Philadelphia, away from home. If either of the above two games is postponed, Kyle Hendricks ($7,600) is a valid alternative.
As far as the offense, I like the Toronto hitters against Ubaldo Jimenez. From the Blue Jays, we could go with the expensive Josh Donaldson ($6,800) and Edwin Encarnacion ($6,700) or with the reasonably priced Russell Martin ($4,600) and Melvin Upton Jr. ($3,800).
Several Dodgers hitters are also on my list for today. I like Howie Kendrick ($3,500), Corey Seager ($5,100) and Justin Turner ($4,400), who is a valid third base alternative to the expensive Donaldson should you hit the salary cap.
