We have a full slate of games today, so finding players to build a winning team should be easy.
I generally prefer to select pitchers who have the home field advantage, but today the schedule is against me. Madison Bumgarner ($9,800) is in Philadelphia, but he is my choice for starter number one. For the second starter, I am indeed going with a pitcher playing on home turf, Carlos Carrasco ($8,600). If you find Carrasco too expensive, maybe Jason Hammel ($6,900) is closer to your salary cap needs.
As far as the offense, it is the first day after the many trades that we saw yesterday. The Mets must feel elated about the arrival of Jay Bruce ($5,300), so we should field several of their hitters. On the opposite coast, Josh Reddick ($4,600) may have something to prove to the Dodgers.
On the topic of feeling good, the Indians have made a few valuable trades, hence their top three hitters are a good choice for today. Consider Carlos Santana ($5,300), Jason Kipnis ($5,200) and Francisco Lindor ($5,500).
