One week I select Chris Sale going against the Braves and Sale gets clobbered. Last week it was $9400 on Madison Bumgarner, who did not get clobbered, but neither did he deliver with six mediocre innings facing the Padres in San Diego.
That means all bets are off on which way I will go in the Tout Wars Challenge, as well as RealTime's Friday "Beat the Experts" contest (note that both contests are held at Real Time Sports) where my numbers were up over the previous week, but still not very good. At Real Time, a lot of folks beat me again, and you can too where I match up against 200 folks and try to win $2 to add to my retirement fund.
Note some summer showers could impact games in Pittsburgh, Cincy, Chicago, and Colorado.
Since it all comes from pitching, I grabbed a pair of starters I like, but guys who are hardly marquee names, starting with Michael Fullmer ($6900) trying his very strong skills (9-2, 2.16 with 77 whiffs), pairing him with the equally effective and modestly priced Tanner Roark ($6400, with a 9-5, 2.82 record and 106 punchouts).
Keeping the pitchers to $13.4 K lets me at least try to put together a band of hitters all well priced and all who can hit.
I like a couple of Fish a lot, so Christian Yelich ($4800) and Jake Realmuto ($3600) are in the lineup against the Mets Logan Verrett and staying with the Big Apple theme, Didi Gregorius ($3600) is becoming a very good hitter with a .296-11-41 line.
Remember that if you are struggling to make DFS baseball work for you, try Todd's fantastic new Daily Rankings which break down his best picks and can be tweaked to match the contest you are playing. This is a Platinum only feature.
