The tour returns to its Scottish roots this weekend as the Open Championship brings the best to Royal Troon, a course established in 1878, giving it a rich and long history within the game.
The last couple of weeks have indeed been brutal DFS ones all over for me, so proceed at your own risk, but do remember you can play against me and cut your chops playing $3 DraftKings Weekly Hybrid PGA. As for my picks, well, just as I think I might be getting the hang, you know? Sort of like your short game falls in line, but all of a sudden, all your drives slice? Irrespective, here goes.
Jason Day ($12,300): Sigh. He is the top seed, and he is really good. Of course, every time I pick a guy like Day, he goes +6 the first day and I am toast. But hey, Day is a member of the Commonwealth and so is Scotland. Is that good enough?
Phil Mickelson ($8600): Good old dependable Phil, at $8600? Such a deal.
Bubba Watson ($8000): Another relative bargain, big hitter Bubba is 12-for-12 making the cut. Let's see if I jinx him?
Charl Schwartzel ($7800): Again, a steady player, who has hit the cut 14 of 15 times this season, and has not yet disappointed me.
Rafael Cabrera-Bello ($6900): Cabrera-Bello has also been a guy who always delivered the goods for me, and he is another player to make the cut 14 of 15 times. Good with moi.
Steve Stricker ($5400): A sentimental selection, I suspect, who played well at Aberdeen a few weeks back. Stricker is my low budget gamble, but with a lucky seven of 11 cuts, the cosmic giggle has to smile upon my picks. Right?
Do remember to keep fantasy open and regulated and fair for all by writing your local lawmakers and tell them of your love of playing and desire to keep on playing. Visit the FSTA site for more information (and thanks).
By the way, don't forget to check out our deal with DraftKings where you get a lot of good baseball stuff from us along with some from DraftKings. Hit the link below for details.
