After watching the struggle at the Open last week--wherein Rory Mcllroy was a wasted pick--I am questioning my thought that I will play any course, any time, anywhere, although Oakmont might merit a pass?

So this week, as the senate is stuck in gun control legislation, in the penultimate weekend before the Fourth, the tour ventures to Maryland and the Congressional Country Club in Bethesda. And, unlike the American people, who have to sit and watch our politicians bicker over nothing while Rome burns, at least this tourney will produce a winner.

So, playing somewhat under the radar, I mostly eschewed the high-priced golfers in deference to splitting the middle difference with what I hope is a winner, and who more likely will please just make the cut.

Don't forget you can play against me and cut your chops playing $3 DraftKings Weekly Hybrid PGA.

Bryson DeChambeau ($8800): A 15th finish at the Open for the rookie who has made eight of 12 cuts and averaged 54.3 points per week.

Roberto Castro ($8600): 14 of 18 making the cut, registering 62.2 points on average, and the two times I have rostered Castro he has paid off.

Seung-Yul Noh ($8400): 13 of 20 making cuts, Noh finished seventh at the St. Jude and comes in with a 52.3 average.

Jaime Lovemark ($8200): 15 for 20, with a 63.1 average points generated, Lovemark is another guy who seems to come through when I pick him.

Daniel Summerhays ($8100): 16 for 19 making the cut, Summerhays completed the Open in a more than respectable eighth place and has averaged 65.1 points per tourney.

Jon Rahm ($7200): The Spaniard is two-for-two making the cut, and finished the Open tied for 23rd, generating a terrific 78.5 points per tourney in the process.

Do remember to keep fantasy open and regulated and fair for all by writing your local lawmakers and tell them of your love of playing and desire to keep on playing. Visit the FSTA site for more information (and thanks).

By the way, don't forget to check out our deal with DraftKings where you get a lot of good baseball stuff from us along with some from DraftKings. Hit the link below for details.
