Based on his last outing, arguably his best of a disappointing season to date, some think that Adam Wainwright ($7900) is back on his game. With the Cubs coming to town starting Monday night, I am less inclined to go along with that thought. Instead, I will spend $700 less on Wainwright’s former rotation-mate, John Lackey. The veteran pitches very well at Busch and in fact, his last time there, on April 18, threw seven scoreless innings on four hits with 11 strikeouts.
Staying with that contest, one Cardinals hitter is particularly hot - 10 for his last 27 (.370) - and seems to be taking well to the cleanup spot in manager Mike Matheny’s revised lineup. That player is steady Stephen Piscotty, who I see as a bargain at $4400, the 25th-ranked outfielder for the day.
