What can there not be to like about the Rockies hosting the Diamondbacks? The Snakes set the bar high for Archie Bradley, calling him up from Triple-A to make the Coors Field start. While a promising prospect, the 23-year-old right-hander has more career walks than strikeouts and right-handed hitters have given him fits - to the tune of 357/.418/.529/.946. So look at Trevor Story, Nolan Arenado, Mark Reynolds and DJ LeMahieu, plus my bargain of the day, catcher Dustin Garneau (at just $2200) - but avoid Charlie Blackmon, Carlos Gonzalez and Gerardo Parra.
On the pitching side, how can one go against the red-hot Cubs and ace-like Jon Lester facing the punchless Padres (13th in the NL in runs scored)? The 32-year-old should pad his 1.58 ERA and 8.6 strikeouts per nine innings, with the best part perhaps being that Lester is just the fifth-most expensive starting option on the board at $8900.
