Saturday 21st Oct 2017

Finally.  Finally.  Finally.

After following my own lesson learned for the week and being open-minded about the guys that score the points, I was able to post as score of 210.  That was by far the best week of the season for me.

But last week is now over and as DFS goes, no longer matters.

I really struggled putting a lineup together for this week that I felt good about.  The problem is there are six running backs that I would love to roster and no wide receivers that pop out to me.

Trying to choose between the expensive options with great match-ups (Todd Gurley, Adrian Peterson, and DeAngelo Williams) and the cheap options in great situations (Darren McFadden, LeGarrette Blount, and Shane Vereen) was very challenging.  The current lineup has Gurley, Williams, and McFadden.

Being unsure as to whether I really have the conviction to go with Cousins at QB, I am considering dropping down from Williams to Blount to upgrade QB to Newton.

Lesson learned for this week – Great players post great numbers.

Tom Brady NE 8600 Very expensive, but Pats are likely to pile up points
Drew Brees NO 7400 Two great weeks in a row and another excellent match-up
Cam Newton Car 7000 Makes up for lack of passing yards with guaranteed goal line carries
Eli Manning NYG 6700 Highest Vegas over/under total of the week
Andy Dalton Cin 6500 Continues as an underappreciated and underpriced QB option
Derek Carr Oak 5800 Carr is 3rd in the NFL in touchdown passes.  Price no where near his production
Blake Bortles Jax 5600 Nice matchup against the Ravens
Landry Jones Pit 5300 Not a sexy option but likely to be effective against weak Browns defense
Kirk Cousins Was 5200 Cousins comes with some risk on his floor.  But his ceiling is six times his salary
Todd Gurley StL 7300 Best among a ton of great RB options this week
Adrian Peterson Min 7100 A close second to Gurley with a nice matchup against the Raiders
DeAngelo Williams Pit 6500 Up $1000 from last week.  Stock way up with Big Ben out
Mark Ingram NO 6400 All you can ask for is guaranteed touches and Ingram brings that to to table
James Starks GB 4900 Earned Packers starting job, but not a sinch to get enough touches
Darren McFadden Dal 4900 Was on the field for every play last week.  Clear that Cowboys want the touches
LeGarrette Blount NE 4900 Will see even more workload with Lewis out
Jeremy Langford Chi 4800 Excellent showing on Monday.  Not a great option this week
Jonathan Stewart Car 4300 Loses some goal line to Newton
Shane Vereen NYG 4300 Giants will need to throw, especially if they fall behind early
Ronnie Hillman Den 4000 Big price drop
Duke Johnson Cle 4000 Will get receptions but overall touches are a question
Theo Riddick Det 3300 Another back with guaranteed catches but no huge volume
Antonio Brown Pit 8800 Huge price jump.  Better with Jones than Vick, but he is no Big Ben
Odell Beckham Jr. NYG 8800 Again, the Giants figure to be throwing often
DeAndre Hopkins Hou 8700 Not the greatest match-up, but most of the Texans matchups have not been great
Julian Edelman NE 8200 All the Patriots are very expensive.  Becomes a guessing game on who benefits
Dez Bryant Dal 7800 Ready to return to monster status
A.J. Green Cin 7600 Monster ceiling but very low floor
Calvin Johnson Det 7500 Lions will be behind and throwing often
Mike Evans TB 6800 Great numbers last week feel empty seeing all the drops.  19 targets - wow
Randall Cobb GB 6700 Way underpriced and due for a monster game soon
Allen Robinson Jax 6700 Moves up more with Hurns questionable
Michael Crabtree Oak 5800 Big price jump but still sees enough targets to support the price
Willie Snead NO 4900 Season numbers match Cooks and Cobb
Kamar Aiken Bal 4500 The only game in tow for the Ravens
Davante Adams GB 4200 Finally had a game that many of us expected
Brandon LaFell NE 4100 The only cheap Patriots player left
Michael Floyd Ari 3800 Bad match-up but dirt cheap
Rob Gronkowski NE 8000 Very expensive price to pay for generally high floor
Greg Olsen Car 6300 Would rather go here than Gronk and use the extra $1700
Tyler Eifert Cin 5800 All he does is score touchdowns
Gary Barnidge Cle 4800 Down game with Manziel.  Hope for McCown return
Travis Kelce KC 4800 Cheap considering the other options
Jordan Reed Was 4600 Going to put up sky high numbers this week in open ended game against Saints
Benjamin Watson NO 4300 Continues to amaze with strong numbers
Austin Seferian-Jenkins TB 2800 Was close the past two weeks.  Almost must-start at this price is he comes back
Rams StL 3600 Beneficiary of Cutler mistakes
Broncos Den 3400 Should have little trouble shutting down Chiefs offense
Bengals Cin 3300 Strong favorite on Monday night
Panthers Car 3300 Would prefer if game was in Carolina.
Packers GB 3200 Should build big lead against mistake-prone Lions offense
Steelers Pit 3000 Not very good defense, but great matchup

Kirk Cousins QB Was 5200
DeAngelo Williams RB Pit 6500
Todd Gurley RB StL 7300
Dez Bryant WR Dal 7800
Kamar Aiken WR Bal 4500
Michael Crabtree WR Oak 5800
Jordan Reed TE Was 4600
Darren McFadden RB Dal 4900
Broncos DST Den 3400
