Welcome to what appears to be the last day of the 2015 regular season, weather permitting. I have to say it is tough enough to make sure we have a full roster without the storms facing Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Chicago and Atlanta, let alone the goofy play time decisions that make Clayton Kershaw ($9900) start today, but suggest maybe he only goes five innings or so, making today a playoff tune up.
Still, we are stabbing at the Mastersball 50/50 Challenge, going under the radar in what feels like a feeble attempt to score some points after two weeks of chasing nothing.
For starting pitchers, I am going cheap and hopefully with innings, taking Garrett Richards ($7400) in a must-win situation for his team, and pairing the Angels righty with Matt Moore, who is starting against the Jays, but I am guessing not the full complement of regulars for the full game.
Note the Jays are planning on starting Troy Tulowitzki ($3800), who is a bargain, but I am going with some Angels hitters in a must- win opportunity to extend their season, starting with Erick Aybar ($3800) off a couple of hot games using the bucks I saved on pitching to play Mike Trout ($6300) and Kole Calhoun ($5500) and their sticks.
