On Thursday, I will be ready to take you on from my regular spot - the Mastersball Daily 50-50 GPP contest with $90 in prizes available for just a $5 entry fee. Do not delay joining, as the Mastersball contests continue to be very popular.
Here are a couple of my picks.
At $9100, the Marlins’ Jose Fernandez is the night’s most expensive pitcher. Though I am always inclined to be looking for pitching bargains, I think Fernandez is head and shoulders above the other options as he draws the Rays on the road. Since returning from injury in July, the 23-year-old Cuban native has been strong with a 6-0 record, a 2.91 ERA and 70 strikeouts in 59 2/3 innings.
If you are needing a bargain or two, look at Nationals shortstop Trea Turner ($2500). Acquired from San Diego in June, the rookie came up in late-August and is heating up, going 4-for-12 with two walks. He homered on Tuesday and already has a couple of stolen bases to go with a .286 average and .804 OPS.
