Tuesday 17th Oct 2017

FScore-160x320On Tuesday, I will be ready to take you on from my regular spot - the Mastersball Daily 50-50 GPP contest with $135 in prizes available for just a $5 entry fee. Do not delay joining, as the Mastersball contests continue to be very popular.

Here are a couple of my picks.

This season, I have been very happy consistently using St. Louis Cardinals right-hander John Lackey ($8100) and deploying the savings on hitting. Consistency is the word for the veteran right-hander, who has enjoyed success against Cincinnati and draws the Reds at home. At the age of 36, Lackey has allowed more than three runs just once in the last 3 ½ months!

In 2015, it doesn’t matter whether Chicago Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo ($5900) faces lefties (.927 OPS) or righties (.925 OPS), as he handles them all. Coming into Tuesday’s action against going-nowhere Milwaukee with a bullpen start, Rizzo is on fire, with a .545 batting average (11-for-21) and six RBI in the last week. In fact, behind Jake Arrieta starting at Wrigley Field, it is a good night to load up on Cubs hitters.

Compete against the Mastersball staff at FantasyScore here. I can be followed on Twitter @b_walton.
