I will be ready to take you on from my regular Tuesday spot - the Mastersball Daily 50-50 GPP contest with $135 in prizes available for just a $5 entry fee. Do not delay joining, as the Mastersball contests continue to be very popular.

I am certain and confident in Chris Sale ($9300) as my first pitcher. I am much less confident about the Zack Greinke ($9800) versus Madison Bumgarner ($9600) duel. When two top pitchers go against each other, the best thing to do is to ignore both of them. The third most expensive pitcher, Johnny Cueto ($9600), had two rough outings and is going against the re-born Justin Verlander ($7900). Verlander is a strong possibility for the second pitcher, but I am going with the Nationals’ Joe Ross ($7300). His last two outings were super. He is facing the Cardinals’ Marco Gonzales (and not Carlos Martinez as some sites may indicate).

The choice of hitters is less complicated. The Mets and Blue Jays are at home, facing two mediocre pitchers. It is possible to field a team by combining a few expensive players, like Edwin Encarnacion ($6300) or Josh Donaldson ($6400) or Yoenis Cespedes ($5900), with a few low-priced ones to cap the salary. Here are a few players to consider who will not bust your budget: Kevin Pillar ($3800), Curtis Granderson ($4100) and Chris Colabello ($4700).

It seems that the weather will not interfere with our favorite pastime today.
