Felix Hernandez ($9500) is the highest priced pitcher on Monday, but he has the challenge of pitching in Colorado. Good luck. I will go with Corey Kluber ($8800), who has pitched well in six of his past seven games and always has the chance for a high strikeout performance. The Pirates' Francisco Liriano ($8400) is my second choice, having allowed two or fewer runs in six straight, meaning he should be in for a big strikeout game against the Cubs.
On offense, Nelson Cruz ($6100) is a must. Not only is he red hot, going 8-for-14 with home runs in three straight games, but he now goes to Colorado. Other Mariners to consider are Kyle Seager ($5700) and Robinson Cano ($5200), but they are both very expensive.
Take a good look at the production the Astros have gotten from their catcher platoon over the past week. Jason Castro ($2600) is 6-for-15 with two home runs and six RBI in his last four games while Hank Conger ($2800) is 6-for-10 with two home runs and six RBI in his last three games. Even though they bat at the bottom of the order, whoever starts on Monday will be a good play in Texas.
