It's a new month and a whole new set of fun challenges at the Mastersball 50/50 Challenge with a cluster of quality starters making the rounds today.
Once again, the currently iffy Clayton Kershaw ($9700) could take the hill, but perhaps the safer roster picks start with Gerrit Cole ($9600) matching up against the Reds, along with Lance Lynn ($8200) taking on the Rockies at home. At least, that is where I am going.
As for hitters, I am thinking (hoping) that Mike Zunino ($2400) has finally settled in at the dish, for as pathetic as his .182 average is, the Seattle backstop has 13 hits over his last ten games to push that number near the Mendoza line (at least he has 10 homers).
On the low-priced side, the Dodgers are facing the Angels and Andrew Heaney, and though the lefty has indeed been successful this year, I like Scott Van Slyke ($2700), who can indeed hit the southpaws, and I am thinking Jed Lowrie ($3300) is ready to get into a groove.
Don't forget that you can indeed match up against the Mastersballers at FantasyScore and you can follow me @lawrmichaels.
