There might be a full complement of games today, but with so many early starts we have to be selective at the Mastersball Daily 50-50 Challenge. On the plus side, none of the later starting games is threatened by bad weather, but I am sort of bummed that I cannot try pitting Ervin Santana against Francisco Liriano in a game where two pretty good pitchers face teams that are not so good facing right-handers.
That leaves us with some slim pickings, and you might be right to start Clayton Kershaw against the Athletics (though the A's have performed ok against Kershaw in the past and do hit lefties well), so I am going with John Lackey ($7900) against the retooling Reds and Tyson Ross ($7700) against the erratic Mets.
As far as hitters, I must admit to feeling like I am struggling at the Mendoza Line, picking a hitter who did well yesterday and looks good today and maybe gets a walk (double digits are eluding me), but I do think Troy Tulowitzki ($5400) is worth the price of admission today as he will want to show his new team just what they got with the best shortstop in the game.
