It is also a day with a few front line starting pitchers are going, including Madison Bumgarner ($9300, and whom my mate Lord Zola loves against the Rockies) and David Price ($9200), along with the now somewhat suspicious Felix Hernandez ($9300) for the Mastersball 50/50 Challenge.
I am going top flight, however, grabbing Chris Archer ($9600, who also graces my Tout Wars roster), tying him to Mike Fiers ($5900). Friers is still sort of under the radar, but he has 89 strikeouts over 80 frames, and has allowed more than three runs only once over his last nine starts, so ideally the pair will give me innings and whiffs. Wins would simply be the cherry on top.
The Bay Area has had a couple of really solid back-up catchers grab some limelight, and with Norichiki Aoki injured, Bruce Bochy is moving towards playing Andrew Susac ($1900) who has hit safely over his last eight starts, and who is getting a chance to play while Bruce Bochy shuffles his troops in the wake of the Norichika Aoki injury.
That leaves a little moolah to stack Todd Frazier ($5900), and Brandon Phillips ($4400) against untested Mets lefty Steven Matz (I know Z has warned us not to gamble against the rookie arms this year, but I am thinking these vets are savvy enough to at least grab a walk).
Don't forget that you can indeed match up against the Mastersballers at FantasyScore.
