Pinch-hitting today for Lawr, I'll be representing the site in the Mastersball 50/50 at FantasyScore. Even with Giancarlo Stanton, I like Clayton Kershaw ($9400) as a cash game anchor but without the slugger in the lineup, it's an absolute no-brainer, especially since the lanky lefty is only $300 more than Masahiro Tanaka.
Speaking of Tanaka, I don't like him in cash today since he faces the explosive Houston Astros, though I have no issue using him in a tournament. In lieu of Tanaka, I want to save some cap space and still get a fairly safe option locked in so we'll count on a bounce-back from Charlie Morton ($4800). PNC Park suppresses runs and the Braves are missing key cog Freddie Freeman.
Saving some bucks on my second arm frees up some room to use the high-priced Buster Posey ($5300) as he'll bat clean-up against a mediocre southpaw in Chris Rusin along with Miguel Cabrera ($6000), hitting third against the left-handed punching bag known as John Danks.
Even with a cheap Morton salted in, I still need another low-priced player so we'll use Ryan Rua ($2000), who's been hitting second against southpaws and the Blue Jays are calling up lefty Matt Boyd for a spot start.
There's only one way to see who else I'm using and that's to join the Mastersball 50/50 at FantasyScore
