Rain across the midwest and northeast (Minnesota, Washington, Philadelphia, Cleveland, and New York) pose somewhat of a threat for today's Mastersball 50/50 Challenge picks, although the precipitation seems to be summer showers, and unlikely to cause postponements, only inconvenvience.
But, still remember that even if the game starts and you have Max Scherzer, and the righty goes four frames, has five whiffs, and allows nothing, and the game is delayed an hour, the chances Max returns to the hill are slim to none.
That said, Scherzer ($9800) coming off a 16-whiff one hitter is the man today with a lot of good potential subordinates like Francisco Liriano ($7500, who matches up against Scherzer is what could be a great game to watch), Corey Kluber ($8900), and Dallas Keuchel ($9100). On the lower end Alfredo Simon ($6200) continues to deliver on his bargain prices as does Nick Martinez ($6800).
Hitting wise I am gambling behind the dish with the newest Cub superstar Kyle Schwarber ($2800) against the hittable Trevor May, while I am taking some right-handed sticks (Joe Mauer, $3400, Eduardo Escobar, $2500) against the very hittable of late Jon Lester (0-2, 6.61 over his last three starts).
Don't forget that you can indeed match up against the Mastersballers at FantasyScore.
