Remember last Friday, when Felix Hernandez tossing against the swing happy Astros seemed like such a lock?
So with this third Friday of the May FanDuel Tout Wars Daily, which pits the Touts against one another for the August tournament with $2000 worth of prizes is here, I go into the affair feeling like it is a first date.
Certainly some strong starters are out there, led by Chris Sale ($11,000), Jacob deGrom ($10,800), and Sonny Gray ($10,000), and those are probably the way to go for the Touts atop the standings right now, but since I need points, the crapshoot I am going for is Tyler Lyons ($6700) who can strike batters out (23 over 18 frames) against the Phillies, who have a meek .666 OPS (that says it all, right?) against lefties, while striking out at a fairly vulnerable 20.8% when facing those same Southpaws.
On the high end of my hitters, I went Miguel Cabrera ($5400) against young Adam Warren and the Yankees, balancing out with Lorenzo Cain ($2900) facing young Eduardo Rodriguez, and Alex Rodriguez ($3300) facing the still somewhat tentative Justin Verlander, off whom ARod has hit .389-3-5 over the past handful of seasons.
Don't forget that every Tuesday you can play the Touts at the FanDuel Tout Wars Challenge, and kick our butts. Check in Tuesdays for the URL to this bargain ($2 entry) DFS contest with the best of bragging rights.
