You never know day-to-day how many points you will need to cash in the Mastersball 50/50 Challenge. On Friday, with the King Felix blow-up, a score of 38.66 cashed. But on Sunday, with most of the stud pitchers delivering strong numbers, a score of 62 is out of the money.
After having great pitching choices on Sunday, the highest priced pitcher on the board Monday is Dallas Keuchel ($9100). I think I will pass on that. I am very tempted to go with Wei-Yin Chen ($5500) and Carlos Rodon ($4500) but I am concerned about lack of innings. So I migrate towards Francisco Liriano ($7400) and Jake Arrieta ($8000), both pitching at home.
On the hitting side, David Ortiz ($4000) has found his stroke with home runs in three of the past four games. The Red Sox are home Monday and Tuesday so they keep the DH. Mets catcher Travis d’Arnaud ($3100) has at least four points in each game since he returned from injury and he is still relatively inexpensive. Finally, Giancarlo Stanton ($6200) has scored in double figures in four of the past seven games.
Don't forget you can play against the other Mastersballers and me at Fantasy Score.
