Coming off a Friday night where Felix Hernandez killed a lot of us on the Daily path reminds us that the that DFS can indeed be a fickle relationship. However, that does not diminish the fact that today is indeed another day for the Mastersball 50/50 Challenge.
And, despited the knocks King Felix might have endured yesterday, I feel ok going for the throat with Chris Archer ($9500) who has simply been deadly all season. As a secondary starter there are a lot of fine choices, including Gerrit Cole ($8900 against the Phillies), Zack Greinke ($8700 against the Padres) and Jacob deGrom ($7900 against the Braves), but I am going with Shelby Miller ($8600) against those very same Mets.
On the batting side of the dish, Justin Verlander makes his first start of the season against the Indians, and that could make for some good plays as Verlander tries to get his sea legs following his first prolonged period of struggle.
I also like the Cardinals against Jeremy Guthrie, meaning Kolton Wong ($5000) and Matt Carpenter ($5700) get a nod on the high end, while on the low side I am playing switch-hitting outfielder Aaron Hicks ($2900) against Colby Lewis.
Games start early today, and check the weather in Baltimore, Chicago, Boston, Pittsburgh, and St. Louis (when exactly does summer begin in the country at large?).
Don't forget that you can indeed match up against the Mastersballers at FantasyScore.
