On Thursday, I will be ready to take you on from my regular spot - the Mastersball 50/50 Challenge GPP contest with $135 in prizes available for just a $5 entry fee. Do not delay joining, as the Mastersball contests continue to quickly fill up each day.
Here are a few of my picks.
On the pitching side, the options are a bit thin. I like Julio Teheran, but the Braves are playing a day game so are excluded from the pool.
The Mets are having serious offensive troubles as we saw the other night with Chris Heston’s no-hitter. Tim Lincecum’s ($6600) turn is tonight and with more consistent mechanics and a reasonable price, he is on my roster. But to be honest, I like Washington’s Tanner Roark ($4700) even better against the Milwaukee hitters. In his only other career outing against the Brew Crew, Roark allowed just one run over seven innings of work.
I am going off the beaten path with my hitting spotlight player today. Cincinnati catcher Brayan Pena ($2900) has been around for over a decade, so he isn't sneaking up on anyone, but is quietly hitting .307 this season. Pena is swinging a hot bat, having gone six for his last 10, and with a game at Wrigley Field, I am hoping his roll will continue another day.
Don't forget that you can indeed match up against the Mastersballers at FantasyScore.
