A lot of great arm choices for today's Mastersball 50/50 Challenge so let's just have at it.
It is so hard to not like Chris Archer ($8200), Gerrit Cole ($8700), Jacob deGrom ($7500), Lance Lynn ($6400) and Zack Greinke ($8700)--the latter pair who face one another on Sunday Night Baseball--but there are also a couple of under-the-radar choices today who can help you exploit some less than stellar hurlers on the slate.
Mike Fiers ($5700) is 1-1, 2.15 with 17 whiffs over 16 frames his last three starts going against those surprising Twins at Target, while Alfredo Simon ($6000) has been surprisingly good at 5-3, 2.97, with 44 strikeouts, and his Tigers, who are just breaking out, go against the Pale Hose.
While going with a first line strikeout guys is the way to win, with the Rockies going against Jose Urena (0-2, 7.97) at home makes a play like Troy Tulowitzki ($4100) so tempting, along with his Coors Field mates.
Similarly, the hittable R.A. Dickey faces the free swinging Astros and his 2-6, 5.53 record, but that curiously could go either way, with Dickey and his knuckler befuddling Chris Carter and his team, but just as likely Carter et al could send Dickey to the showers. I am inclined to favor the Astros hitters.
By the way, there are storm warnings for Atlanta, Chicago, and Kansas City so track the weatherman and your roster accordingly.
Don't forget that you can indeed match up against the Mastersballers at FantasyScore.
