Week Three of the Tout Wars Challenge, at FanDuel where you can take on the Touts for a measly $2 (that is less than a bottle of water), with the chance of not just earning a 100% $2 profit in addition to telling the world that you are a better DFS player than we are. I mean, how can you miss?
Since pitching is indeed everything, I looked at the match-ups and teams as carefully as I could, and though the great Max Scherzer ($12000) is out there, as are Johnny Cueto ($10,700), A.J. Burnett ($9400), Shelby Miller ($9100), and Zack Greinke ($9900), but I am going a little under the radar with Lance Lynn ($8800).
Lynn, who has 67 whiffs over his 60 innings this year, is pitching at home, against a Brewers team that is among the leaders in strikeouts, along with posting a team .289 OBP and .678 OPS, meaning so far, even when the Brew Crew makes contact, it doesn't amount to much.
I like Freddie Freeman ($3200), a lefty hitter with good on-base numbers (.363 this year) against right-handed Josh Collmenter, against whom lefties are hitting .308 (though .309 versus righties) who has allowed 70 hits over 57 innings, including nine big flies (four by left-handed hitters).
I like Alex Rodriguez ($3100) as a veteran against the debut of the Royals Mike Montgomery, and in the outfield, I am looking at Shin-Soo Choo ($3200) against the erratic Jeff Samardzija in Arlington, and Josh Reddick, also at home, against the Tigers and Alfredo Simon.
Have fun with your daily games, and remember again say you beat Lord Zola, Ron Shandler, Larry Schechter, and me! Play the Tout Wars Challenge!
