Sometimes you just never know in this crazy game of baseball. Going into Sunday, I was not sure that John Danks was good enough to shut down my son’s high school team. Then he goes out and pitches a complete game shutout. Then, Madison Bumgarner, perfect through four innings, fails to make it through seven innings with the lead.

But the joy of DFS is that nothing that happened with you or your daily roster matters on Monday.

Monday is a day when many of baseball's stud pitchers take the hill. King Felix Hernandez ($9300) heads the list as Seattle is home against the Yankees. While Clayton Kershaw ($8400) would normally be of strong consideration, pitching in Colorado points me in a different direction. Jacob deGrom ($7500) at San Diego is likely to be my second choice. Gerrit Cole ($8400) at San Francisco and Garrett Richards ($6900) at home against Tampa Bay are also considerations. With the Giants hitting much better since Hunter Pence returned, Richards appears to be a stronger play than Cole.

Even under normal circumstances, I would have been looking at Cardinals hitters against the Brewers and Matt Garza, but the extra inning game on Sunday forced Garza into extended action, so the Brewers starter is TBD. Play hitters accordingly.

Don't forget you can play against the other Mastersballers and me at Fantasy Score.

It is frustrating to not be able to change lineups after the contest start on some sites (most notably FanDuel). Nice that FantasyScore and DraftKings allow this. I hope others add this capability. They may be forced to, as players become used to what they're getting elsewhere. I'm also hoping the rake decreases, with all the competition.

Grandal's sitting, so put in Gattis at c.

Kershaw should do well in Col, but I don't want to waste the hitter spot against Kendrick. Richards looks like the best pts/$ bet. The SD game should be low-scoring, and either SP should do well. Both have pitched better at home, so going with Cashner. The Dodgers hitter stack will be very common tonight.

p - richards, cashner
c - grandal
1b - gonzalez
2b - pearce
3b - bryant
ss - tulowitski
of - pederson, ethier, trumbo
