Wednesday 18th Oct 2017

It is indeed Memorial Day Weekend which marks the first milepost in season-long Fantasy Baseball leagues, but at the Mastersball 50/50 Challenge, we will know a winner tonight.

There is a full complement of games, and the deadline to sign up is the 1:05 EST start time with the weather factoring, it seems, only on the Giants/Rockies contest where there is a chance of rain.

There are indeed a chunk of great pitching choices out there today but I am sticking with Shelby Miller ($8100), who almost tossed a no-no last Sunday against the Brew Crew and who has indeed been dominant this season. I am also sticking with Stephen Strasburg ($7700), who has a tough opponent in Cole Hamels, but not so tough a team in the punchless Phils.

I have been really focusing on righty/lefty matchups for hitters over the past few weeks, exploiting the combination of that platoon with who is apparently facing the arm that allows the most baserunners.

As a result, the hitters I like a lot today are the White Sox Adam Eaton ($2600) against Trevor May and his 5.15 ERA, along with Elvis Andrus ($3800) against C.C. Sabathia.

Finally, on the high end, I am happy to play Nelson Cruz ($6000), who faces the fine but hittable Mark Buehrle.

Remember, you can take me and the other Mastersballers on at FantasyScore
