Today, with a full complement of MLB games, the pool of players to choose from for FantasyScore Mastersball 50/50 Challenge is large.Todd's first rule of daily FantasyScore is "nail the pitching." Agreed, but how much should we spend? The result of my recent experiments is “do not go cheap on pitching.” More on that next time.
With that in mind, I thought of going with Chris Sale ($7900) but his last two outings were subpar, making me stay away. I do like Jake Arrieta ($7900), who is going against a new kid from the Mets, and Collin McHugh ($6600), who has averaged seven-plus innings recently. Both are pitching at home, which, in my opinion, is an important consideration.
As for the hitters, two games should arouse particular interest. The Angels rested on Monday and are at home against Colorado’s Kyle Kendrick, who has an ERA of 8.73. I like Albert Pujols ($4800) and Kole Calhoun ($4200). Of course, I always like Mike Trout ($6400), but with him, the budget becomes an issue.
As I said, easy picking today. The success though may come from combining some of these expensive batters with a few reasonably priced ones, such as David Freese ($2700).
