Yesterday worked pretty well for my FantasyScore in picking Robinson Cano ($5900), who bagged four points, and Jose Bautista ($5800) who pulled in another seven, both of whom helped me finish in the money with fellow Mastersballers Rob Leibowitz (11th) and Marc Meltzer (6th) to my 15th place slot.Though I do have star selections as my recommendation for today's play, there are games I would look at where I think the hitters will have a lot of fun.
First off, Scott Feldman played a pivotal role in my 2009 AL Tout Wars Championship team, but that was six years ago, and Feldman has shown me very little since. That means a lot of Angels, including left-handed hitters, could have a field day. In fact, one of my top picks for today is Mike Trout ($6400), who has largely been raking this season (.444-3-9).
Next, I am taking Angel Pagan (a mere $2700)--a switch-hitter--facing the awful Jeremy Hellickson. Pagan is off to a healthy start with a .370-0-3 line, while Hellickson's 0-2, 6.55 record over two starts, with a 1.91 ERA and 8/5 strikeout/walk ratio is pretty bad. When you think that Hellickson has not won a game since August of last year, well, you understand the pick.
While we are at ATT, I feel good picking the ageless (almost 40) Tim Hudson ($4500) and his 0-1, 2.03 ERA at home in a pitcher's environ. Somehow, I think the Giants will jump on Hellickson, and Hudson will be able to pitch with a lead, and that will be all she wrote.
Remember, you can play against Rob, Marc, and me at the MB 50/50 Challenge at FantasyScore.
