There is indeed a Mastersball Challenge tomorrow, and I am indeed locked into it.
I will say two of the picks I am recommending here were easy to make.
First, Matt Harvey ($7700) against the Phillies seems like a fun pick. I would say a no-brainer as well, but, as witnessed within this young season, there are no sure anythings in a world where Jake Lamb rakes and Clayton Kershaw is victimized by said lawn maintenance equipment.
Still, I am willing to gamble on the resurrected arm of Harvey, and while I am at it, am happy to select his teammate, Lucas Duda ($3200), hitting against the seemingly hapless David Buchanan (0-1, 18.00). Yeah, it is early, but hey.
If I was going to look at another matchup, it would be the Athletics--take your pick of hitters--against an as of now unknown Astros pitcher. Asher Wojciechowski was set to start Tuesday, but he had to come to the aid of the battered Scott Feldman. Oakland is in a hitting groove with three homers on Monday night, so TBD might be good fodder for the team.
By the way, that means Kendall Graveman ($4400) might be a good play for his second start. Graveman did get knocked around by the Rangers his first start, but during a day game. in Oakland, the ball tends to carry. Had Graveman started the night before, the two homers he allowed would probably have been fly outs.
