Not only do I own Lance Lynn in four of my six year-long leagues, but I also picked him yesterday for my Fantasy Score team. And after the Mat Latos debacle on Tuesday, it was nice to get this one right. No, I'm not expecting another sub-3.00 ERA from Lynn, but I still felt that he was being undervalued this draft season, so I just kept on taking him. Anyway, let's get onto my picks for Thursday.
Trevor Bauer ($3900): Post-hype sleeper, anyone? The strikeouts have always been there, but an inability to consistently command his pitches at the big league level is what has prevented Bauer from enjoying that long-awaited breakout season. Well, Bauer is coming off an encouraging spring training during which he issued just one walk while whiffing 26 across 27 2/3 innings. He now gets to face a young Astros lineup that ranked 2nd in the Majors in strikeouts last season.
Neil Walker ($3800): Perhaps the most underrated middle infielder in fantasy baseball, Walker is aiming to build on last year's career-best campaign. Look for him to post a strong stat line on Thursday. In 38 career games at Great American Ball Park, Walker has launched a combined ten home runs to go along with 27 RBI. Oh, and opposing pitcher Anthony DeSclafani will be making just his sixth career major league start.
