Tuesday 17th Oct 2017

The NFL season is far enough along to draw one basic conclusion: A disproportionate number of teams that drafted towards the bottom of Round 1 are leading the two major NFFC contests.

20 of the top 30 teams in the NFFC Primetime drafted from the bottom third positions (9-12) and 22 out of the top 40 teams in the NFFC Classic drafted from positions 10-14. Clearly, the disappointing performances from LeSean McCoy (just bad so far), Adrian Peterson (legal trouble), Jamaal Charles (injury and Andy Reid) and Matt Forte (no touchdowns) are the main reasons for the upside down standings. If the season continues this way, will it signal the time to eliminate third-round reversal? The necessity of third-round reversal was essentially created by the NFFC as a way to level the playing field in a time where there was seemingly one or two dominant running backs every season (think Priest Holmes, Shaun Alexander, LaDainian Tomlinson, Marshall Faulk). From 2000 through 2007, the NFL touchdown leader scored between 20 and 31 touchdowns. But since 2008 (admittedly only six seasons), nobody scored more than 20 touchdowns.

With more and more teams going to some type of running back by committee, the time to re-open the third-round reversal debate might have arrived.

Agree Perry-- eyeballing the list, I'd have him at #16.
0 #1 Perry Van Hook 2014-10-09 16:20
Tim Wright (NE) should be on the TE list - while Week 5 numbers may not be duplicated, Wright was on the field for a low percentage of plays and caught 5 of 5 targets. Also note that the Patriots split him out to WR position given their weakness there. He was added Wednesday in most leagues where he was available but JIC take a look - in larger leagues or TE friendly scoring he may well be flex worthy in future weeks and is playable this week if you are missing Graham or Kelce
