Each week, your friends at Mastersball will post the results of the weekly LABR FAAB run, featuring the winning bid as well a the runner-up bids. There are three LABR leagues, a 12-team AL only, 12-team NL only and 15-team Mixed League. You can see the complete standings for each league by clicking on the appropriate heading, located just under each player photo.

Included with each league report will be commentary from a Mastersball staff member participating in that league. We invite you to ask questions and post comments at the bottom of the report.

All contingency bids for awarded players are included. Sometimes, this bid is tied to a player that the owner received, so at times the bid amount is larger than the winning bid. We are including it to provide as much information and context as possible with each report.

Perry Van Hook's Commentary.

An unusually light night for bids saw just one $1 bid as ESPN’s Tristan Cockcroft rostered Minnesota outfielder Aaron Hicks to try and keep his hold on second place in this league.

Todd's Take

Dave Adler from BaseballHQ has a very comfortable lead but don't expect an invitation to the victory party until September 29. There's a heckuva battle for second between KFFL's Keith Hernandez, Tristan and Winning Fantasy Baseball author Larry Schechter and even though they may be almost 30 points behind the leader, second place is still second place and it means something to these guys. And don't count Steve Gardner from USA Today out as there's still time to make it a 4-way battle for second.

Lawr Michaels' Commentary

Doing his best to drain the corporate fantasy wallet, ESPN's Eric Karabell spent $15 on former first round pick of the Padres, Cory Spangenberg, and at this time of year, the dollar advantage made the difference as Eric fended off four bids, ranging from $1 to $10.

League leader Lenny Melnik of RotoExperts made a late season bid for saves, grabbing Drew Storen, unchallenged for $14.

Doug Dennis, of BaseballQ, expended $6--$3 each for Logan Watkins and Felix Doubront, while the Fantasy Alarmers--Glenn Colton and Rick Wolf--spent $2--$1 each--for the rights to Donovan Solano and Jason Bourgeois.

Finally Inside Edger Steve Moyer spent a buck to get Eric Young.

You can tell the end is near, no?

Todd's Take

It looks like NL LABR will be a race to the finish between Lenny Melnick from RotoExperts, Inside Edge's Steve Moyer and Colton and the Wolfman. Dalton Del Don from Yahoo! Sports and Derek Van Riper from Rotowire also loom so as many as five squads could be tussling for the top.

Todd's Take

Ray Murphy from Baseball HQ has put the peddle to the metal, separating from the pack while Steve Gardner, Fred Zinkie from MLB.com and Rotowire's Jeff Erickson all hope Ray decides to rejoin the pack.
