It is 90 minutes before game time, so I will log my prediction: Seahawks 31-14 over Denver.
Yeah, I like the Broncos, but these days I love the Hawks, whom I started following in earnest the second half of the 2011 season, when I saw what a great defense the team had.
We just had a few folks over, so mostly I was planning food: Chile rellenos, enchiladas, rice, along with pico de gayo and guacamole and chips. Meaning I started with enchilada sauce while I was making scones to start the morning, so most of my prep is done.* * * * *
So, another Super Bowl orgy day is over, and as we await the somewhat more civilized "Downton Abbey," in a bit, the Seahawks clearly proved they owned the stage today.
As in the game was not really close from the first snap (Seattle scored on the first play of the game, and sort of the first play of the second half) and Denver was beyond out of sorts.
In short, it was a fun season, with a number of great games and match-ups and surprises.
But, in the end, the best two teams in the NFL are the Seahawks and the Niners, and it looks like that will continue for a few more years. Save maybe the Panthers.
And that means the swing to the NFC is really complete.
That will be it from Extra Points till next August, but in a few weeks the Baseball Hotpage will return along with the rest of our baseball schedule.
Bring on Spring Training!
